Year-round protection with PRISMA workwear series from Bultex99

The time we spend at the workplace takes up a large part of our daily lives. This is reason enough to also pay attention to the clothing we wear while performing our duties. For many industries, it is of paramount importance. Personal protective equipment is no less important, especially in a pandemic situation like today’s. The presence of these components provides a sense of calm and safety during the work process. Additionally, they are a great tool for generating a good brand image.
For many years, workwear was viewed solely from the perspective of its direct purpose. It was essential that it provided the necessary protection according to the nature of the work performed. However, in today's context, besides protecting the employee, it must also be comfortable and presentable.
That is why Bultex 99 created workwear PRISMA series - developed based on our many years of experience, tailored to the needs for comfort, functionality, durability, and attractive appearance.
Key characteristics of workwear
As in the past, the primary function of workwear today is to protect the employee performing their daily duties. This is why the durability of the garment and the characteristics of the materials used are considered extremely important.
- The material from which clothing is made is crucial for protection against workplace hazards. Cotton, used by people to make clothes for over 5000 years, is among the most preferred fabrics. Known as a natural product, it has properties that both absorb and maintain its strength for a longer period. Additionally, cotton fabric rarely causes allergic reactions. In the context of professional clothing, it is important to note that cotton is slow to catch fire, making it a preferred material for workwear in certain industries. Polyester, on the other hand, is known as a durable and long-lasting product, resistant to fading and easy to clean. Based on various fabric characteristics, employers choose the most suitable product for their employees.
- Color combinations also play a role in choosing workwear. They can indicate the nature of the work being performed. For instance, the food industry primarily seeks clothing in white tones. However, this is not a strict rule, as the same industry also uses garments in various colors like green, blue, red, and so on. Besides helping to identify industries, colors are used to build strong brands. In this context, we often associate a particular color with a specific brand. Most likely, that color appears on the brand’s website, company logo, packaging, labels, and also in employees’ clothing. Choosing the right colors or color combinations is the first step in creating an effective corporate identity. If there are color schemes that stand out in the market, they are definitely blue and gray. HV (high visibility) clothing containing reflective elements is also in demand as a product.
- The type of workwear is another important characteristic. It must be suited to both the season and the environment. For example, outdoor work during different seasons requires the development of winter and summer collections. Wind and water influence the creation of windproof and waterproof garments, while special high-visibility clothing is necessary in low-visibility conditions, roadwork, or construction activities. Professional gear may also be needed indoors when there are deviations from optimal air temperature limits.
The right combination of fabric, color, and style is a challenging task that must be carefully considered. There are regulations and rules that define the conditions and procedures for providing workers and employees with free work and uniform clothing, which must be strictly followed. This is where our role comes in—to simplify this process by offering the best advice and guidance based on years of accumulated knowledge and experience.
Trends in Modern Workwear
Nowadays, the list of features defining the quality of workwear does not end there. Viewed through the lens of current trends, besides the need for maximum protection, ensuring personal comfort comes to the forefront. It is precisely when we feel comfortable that we become more creative, efficient, and productive. This is why increasing attention is paid to the materials used, considering many of their characteristics. Models are now much more than just a combination of cut, fabric, and color. Functionality, comfort of use, and good appearance take center stage.
The emergence of more small and medium-sized enterprises also influences the market. While previously the choice of workwear was mainly the responsibility of large team leaders, today many people make this decision themselves. This makes the market more demanding, which, in turn, presents new challenges for us.
Many of the established models in Europe are also produced in Bulgaria, but the quality of the fabric used and the level of execution remain the responsibility of the manufacturer. There is a noticeable trend of declining trust in many popular brands due to reduced quality in some productions when price is the leading factor.
Precisely to ensure a high level of quality, fabric, and style, we decided to create our own workwear series under complete control.
PRISMA Series – protection all year round

Our many years of experience in the field and continuous dialogue with the industry have helped us create a comfortable, stylish, and functional workwear series suitable for every season.
With the PRISMA WINTER collection, we expanded our series with items suitable for the winter season. And to ensure additional comfort and lightness even during the hottest days, we created the PRISMA SUMMER collection, characterized by high tear resistance and lightweight fabric. Besides the standard trousers, the summer series also includes shorts as an extremely comfortable and functional component.
For your greater safety, we have also introduced reflective elements in the clothing.
We also focused on color variety, selecting combinations applicable and recognizable across most industries.
Advantages of the PRISMA Signature Series
The functionality of workwear is most often associated with the number of pockets and their usability. Therefore, each pocket we offer has its special purpose – depending on whether it should be your reliable assistant during work, providing access to your most necessary tools and supplies, or should keep your most valuable belongings safe.
In addition to functionality, we paid attention to the reflective elements, also called HV (high visibility) elements. They are an essential part of signal gear and are considered extremely important. For some industries, their use is even mandatory. Specifically, this applies to industries where the main activity takes place near roadways, close to cranes or other motorized equipment of this type, as well as in low-visibility areas. These specifics are outlined in the international standard EN ISO 20471:2013, which mandates the use of visible workwear for employees exposed to hazardous situations. According to this standard, high-visibility protective clothing is divided into 3 classes depending on the risk. Each class has different requirements, taking into account the area of HV elements on the entire garment.

Minimum visible material areas in m²

However, signal clothing is not only necessary in work conditions. The employee's movement to the workplace is an equally important process that must be taken into account. For this reason, HV elements are fully present in our product range. To increase the flexibility of the fabric used, all the strips placed on the garments from the PRISMA series are of the printed HV type. Printed HV tape is printed directly onto the fabric, not sewn on. This minimizes the restriction of the fabric's stretchability and extends the usage time.
Comfort of PRISMA workwear
To ensure maximum comfort, we chose one of the most interesting technologies for making garments from the PRISMA series – the so-called Ripstop. This is a process that uses a special reinforcing technique of twisting the threads. This process is at the core of why the fabrics we use are resistant to tearing and ripping.

Fabric treatments are also an important element in the production of a garment, as they not only provide the initial feeling of comfort but also determine the strength and durability of the product. Therefore, in the PRISMA series, we chose an optimal combination of fabrics to meet the most common challenges of your workplace.
Colors in the PRISMA Series

We also focused on color variety, with the main palettes chosen for this series being blue, gray, and brown.
One of the reasons we chose a bright and visible color like royal blue is that it is associated with both trust and security. It also helps employees be visible at all times and stand out.
Gray is a color where dirt is least visible when working in dusty and dirty environments. This helps the garment look good for a much longer period, which is important both for the direct user and their supervisor. We combined it with a bright green color, making the model attractive and modern.
Our third choice is brown. Along with green, brown is one of the most dominant colors on the planet, evoking a sense of calm and stability. Brown is also associated with agriculture and forestry.
With the experience we have gained over the years, continuous dialogue with the industry, and understanding of different needs, we continue to develop the PRISMA series, with our main goal remaining to offer the most comfortable, durable, and attractive workwear.
